Essex Wedding Film – Rachel & Patrick
To give you all some context to this Wedding Film, on Rachel & Patrick’s day Essex had a months worth of rainfall in 24 hours. I think it stopped raining twice; when Rachel walked into the Church, and when everyone exited some 40 minutes later. Apart from that it chucked it down….all day.
Not that it seemed to matter to Rachel & Patrick. Not once did I hear them express any sort of disappointment about the weather, in fact when I met Rachel in the morning during her bridal prep, she was as upbeat and positive as if it was the hottest day of the year.
Personally, this was a great wedding for me. After 2 weeks of driving all over the South East, it was great to film in a Church that was a minutes walk from my house and to shoot at my local Golf club. I even managed to bump into my Dad in the afternoon, after he’d completed a soggy and painful 18 holes. (32 points, he told me, proudly.)
The rain, in a way, seemed to bring the guests of this Wedding closer. There was a definite sense that fun was to be had, regardless of the lack of sun. I was also impressed with how Rachel & Patrick worked the room, taking time out to speak with each of their guests and to thank them for coming. Patrick even spent a few minutes chatting with myself and photographer Sandra von Reikhoff, thanking us again for coming, and for battling through the rain. A nice, and unexpected touch but one that symbolised this classy, understated and relaxed Wedding.
Speaking of Sandra – do check out her pictures of the day. She was a wonderful whirlwind of energy and it was a pleasure to work alongside her and to spend the day in her company.
